This is What an Advertising Revenue Free Fall Looks Like

I look at this chart, and what I see is lazy media buyers. They were lazy into the early 2000s, long after the rise of the internet, buying newspaper space because that’s what they’d always done. And they’re lazy now, deciding that buying newspaper space is too much like hard work, and nobody really cares if they do it or not, so they don’t.
